Jade I. McConnell, 19, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries sustained in a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Route 33.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a westbound 2009 Ford Mustang about 5:10 a.m. near U.S. Route 68 when her vehicle went out of control due to black ice on a bridge/overpass and went off the left side of the road. The car struck a guardrail, overturned and then came to a rest.
The driver was wearing her seat belt, and she was cited for failure to control. Damage was heavy to the car.
• Chase N. Reichert, 21, of Sidney, was cited for failure to control related to a crash about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on State Route 706 during heavy fog conditions.
Deputies report he was operating a southbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and failed to follow a curve. His vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a barn at 12331 S.R. 706.
No injuries were reported. Deputies informed the owner of the barn, Sandra Wolfe, about the situation.
The driver and his passenger were wearing their seat belts. Damage was heavy to the pickup and it was towed from the scene.
