Janessa K. Stewart, 35, of Sidney, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident early Saturday morning at Oakdale Campground, 4611 State Route 235, Quincy.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the campground just after midnight in reference to a domestic dispute.
When they arrived, they observed that Stewart’s hands had blood on them. She told deputies she did not want anyone to get in trouble and tried to avoid answering any questions. Deputies observed that she had an odor of alcoholic beverage about her person and she was unsteady on her feet.
She told deputies she had been in an argument with her live-in boyfriend, and said he had locked her out of his camper, and then she had tried to gain re-entry by breaking the glass window of the door. Stewart told deputies that her boyfriend then became physical and had placed his hands on her throat. However, deputies did not observe any redness or marks on her throat, and she was checked at the scene by Rosewood EMS.
Deputies also spoke with her boyfriend, who also said Stewart had broken the glass to his camper door. While speaking with him, deputies observed lacerations and his face, which he said were caused by the defendant during the argument by the camper door.
Stewart was placed under arrest and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
