A city woman who has been arrested multiple time for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs now faces felony OVI counts after a 6:20 p.m. Wednesday incident.
Megan C. Lowry, 33, of 1316 Woodglen Circle, was charged with the felonies and misdemeanor counts of failure to comply with a peace officer and obstructing official business. She was issued traffic citations for driving under suspension and a stop sign violation.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were notified of an intoxicated driver at Community Market, 878 E. Sandusky Ave., and Lowry was the named suspect.
At East Glen Drive and Firethorn Avenue, she was observed in her sport utility vehicle eastbound in the middle of the road. She failed to stop at the intersection and turned north on East Glen.
An officer tried to initiate a traffic stop but Lowry accelerated and continued on. She disregarded a stop sign as she turned from East Glen onto Woodglen and to her residence.
She stopped in her driveway, exited the SUV, reportedly ignored orders to stop and ran into her garage through a side door. She closed the door and locked it.
The officer was able to convince her to open the door. He entered the garage and noted a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and that her eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
She was forcibly taken into custody. She began to complain she needed medical attention and an officer transported her to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Officers contacted the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office and obtained a search warrant for blood draw from Lowry. It was signed by Logan County Common Pleas Court Judge Kevin P. Braig. A sample was obtained and submitted for laboratory testing.
Lowry was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

At 12:50 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 800 block of north Troy Road observed a northbound pickup truck drift left of center and initiated a traffic stop.
A records check revealed Coleman was wanted.
According to incident reports, methamphetamine was recovered from the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia associated with methamphetamine abuse. Five prescription pills used for treating opioid addiction also were found by officers.
He was lodged in jail.
