West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team kept its winning streak going Saturday with a 48-39 win over host Southeastern in an Ohio Heritage Conference contest.
The Tigers are now 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the conference. The Trojans drop to 2-6, 1-5.
WL-Salem started off with a 12-11 lead after the first quarter, but gained some breathing room with a 10-6 run in the second quarter. That gave the Tigers a 22-17 lead at halftime.
Southeastern stayed with WL-Salem in the third quarter 15-15, but still trailed 37-32. The Tigers sealed the win in the fourth quarter with an 11-7 run.
Grace Estes powered the Tigers on offense with 14 points, Selena Weaver had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds and Emily Hollar had nine points with five steals and four assists.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem defeated Southeastern 36-25. Chaley Wade led the Tigers with 18 points.
WL-Salem is back on the court Saturday at home against Triad in a local OHC contest.
