Wilson L. “Will” Wilgus, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
A 1955 graduate of West Mansfield High School, Will retired from DAB in Bellefontaine.
An avid fisherman, he loved fishing at Lake Erie with his friends.
He also enjoyed harness racing, owning and training his own horses.
Born Nov. 1, 1936, in West Mansfield, he was the son of the late Richard Laurel “Skeeter” and Elizabeth Hornbeck Wilgus.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn M. Wilgus on Feb. 20, 2005.
Surviving are his daughters, Jackie (Dave) Heiert of Crestview, Ky., and Rexanne (Chris) Cole of Dola; a stepson, Rick Tracy of Indianapolis, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Sheryl Tracy of Springville, Ind.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his first wife and now companion, Nancy Shirk Stokes; a sister, Grace Lytle of West Liberty; and nieces and nephews.
Calling is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St., West Mansfield, where Pastor Doug Thompson officiates funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18. Burial follows in Greenlawn Cemetery.
