Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 11 p.m. Thursday to 9004 County Road 20, West Mansfield, to speak with resident Stanley T. Artis about a theft of his vehicle and household items.
Mr. Artis said he had fallen asleep about 8 p.m. and had two house guests at his residence at the time. He said when he woke up about 11 p.m., he discovered that the individuals were gone and that his vehicle, a 2002 Gold Ford Focus, license plate number GCF-1477 was missing, along with a TV and miscellaneous items.
Deputies continue their investigation.
• Deputies responded about 6:20 p.m. Thursday to speak with William J. Perin Jr. of Zanesfield regarding a theft at his storage unit at Stow-Away Storage, 1143 County Road 130.
He said the lock of his storage unit was cut off of and he was missing miscellaneous tools.
While at the storage unit facility, deputies observed that locks had been cut off a number of other storage units, and were in the process of contacting the owners of those units.
Driver cited in hit-skip crash
Connor J. Dickerson, 21, of Bellefontaine, was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to control following a previously reported hit-skip crash that occurred about 3:55 p.m. Wednesday.
He reportedly was operating an eastbound vehicle on County Road 11 and stopped at the intersection of County Road 32. He then made a left turn, and struck a traffic sign and a utility pole, knocking the power lines down across the road.
The power lines were pulled away from a residence at 998 S. C.R. 32, causing damage to the house.
Mr. Dickerson called in the crash to the sheriff’s office later in the day, stating he “didn’t want to be late for work.” He was issued the citations.
