Wesley L. Ewing, 26, of 404 E. Patterson Ave., Apt. 8, was charged Wednesday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and furnishing alcohol to an underage person and cited for failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road and not using a turn signal after a 1:15 a.m. traffic stop.
Dylan J. Savage, 18, of 713 S. Detroit St., was charged with underage consumption.
Mr. Ewing was observed tailgating Mr. Savage’s car and weaving in the lane while northbound in the 900 and 700 blocks of south Main Street. He also failed to signal when he turned his car onto Lincoln Avenue.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department initiated a stop on Lincoln and detected an odor of alcohol while talking with both drivers.
Field sobriety tests indicated Mr. Ewing was impaired by alcohol and his breathalyzer sample was 0.10.
Mr. Savage admitted to having a drink of Mr. Ewing’s beer at a local restaurant. Field sobriety tests did not indicate Mr. Savage was impaired.
