West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team finished Ohio Heritage Conference play with a 58-31 win over visiting Southeastern on Saturday.
The Tigers locked up an outright OHC title last week, but are now 18-3 overall and finish 13-1 in the league standings. The Trojans end their regular season 14-8, 8-6.
Southeastern held a 13-10 lead after the first quarter, but WL-Salem went on a 17-8 run in the second quarter. That put the Tigers in charge 27-21 at halftime.
WL-Salem dominated the second half of Saturday’s game. The Tigers used an 18-8 spurt to build a 45-29 cushion. They coasted past the Trojans 13-2 in the fourth quarter to wrap up the win.
Jamie Peterson fueled the Tigers with 22 points and eight rebounds, Lily Yoder tallied 11 points and Taylor Lauck added nine points with five assists.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem raced past Southeastern 43-15. Isabella Clark had nine points to lead the Tigers and Kiana Reames and Peyton Kerns each had six points.
WestLiberty-Salem travels to Kenton Ridge today for a non-league contest.
