Some of the nearly 60 Vectren Energy customers off Resevoir Road said they remained without natural gas after a frigid weekend without heat. A gas main was hit Friday and flooded with water.
Vectren spokeswoman Natalie Hedde said Monday morning crews work around the clock to repair the damaged main and then purge it and any service lines of water. She reported all service was restored but residents on Terrance Drive said they were without power into Monday afternoon.
Ms. Hedde could not be reached for comment Monday afternoon.
Vectren has communicated with customers face-to-face and via autocalls to keep them updated on the project to restore gas service which provides fuel for heating.
Additional crews were brought in from as far away as Evansville, Ind., so the workers could work in shifts and have rest.
