Driver Aaron Brock, 40, of Bellefontaine, and his passenger Melissa Schuler, 45, of Dayton, each were arrested following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 4:20 p.m. in the area of State Route 274 near Township Road 94 stopped Brock’s vehicle for several left of center violations.
Upon making contact, Brock was found to have active warrants for his arrest.
While speaking with Schuler, officers observed marks on her body that were consistent with recent drug use. K9 Bruno was deployed and indicated to the odor of an illegal drug inside of the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, several pieces of drug paraphernalia were located. A female Bellefontaine Police Department officer was called to the scene and located methamphetamine concealed on Schuler’s person. Brock later admitted he gave the methamphetamine to Schuler to hide when being pulled over.
Brock was lodged in the Logan County Jail on his warrants and a felony possession of drugs charge. Schuler also was lodged on a felony tampering with evidence and possession of drugs charge.
The Russell’s Point Police Department also assisted at the scene.
