Bellefontaine Elementary School celebrated student leadership with a schoolwide assembly just prior to the district’s winter break.
Students in grades K-2 were recognized through the PBIS (positive behavioral interventions and supports) B-Block pledge. The pledge is: “to be kind, be a leader, and be responsible for myself.”
The Bellefontaine High School Jazz Band played as students entered the gym. The pupils watched a video explaining the B-Block pledge.
Chieftain Leaders and Students of the Week played games such as antler toss and crate paper Christmas tree with teachers.
Students with perfect attendance were presented a certificate. The assembly was hosted by BES Assistant Principal Denise Johnson.
“We are promoting positive behavior for all of our students,” Johnson said. “We’re looking for kindness, responsibility, and leadership. This was a time to celebrate those positive things going on in our school.”
