Erin Douglas, 31, of Kenton, was charged with a felony count of identify fraud relating to a traffic stop Wednesday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 10 p.m. in the area of U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 239 observed a white Ford with an equipment violation.
Officers made contact with the driver, Tiffany Haynes of Lakeview, and two passengers. Officers talked with female passenger, who identified herself as “Ciera Jackson” and a male.
Officers noticed when they ran Jackson’s information through the computer her picture did not match. The identity Jackson provided the female in that photo had a large red tattoo on her neck and the defendant did not.
She was placed under arrest. Officers eventually were advised by the defendant that her real name was Erin Douglas. Douglas advised officers she lied because she had a warrant out for her arrest.
She was transported to the Logan County Jail and charged with felony identity fraud.
The Russells Point Police Department assisted with the stop.
• Patricia Meyers, 43 of Bellefontaine, also was charged with a felony county of identity fraud during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.
Her vehicle was stopped for an expired registration violation in the 100 block of West Main St., Russells Point., about 2:50 p.m.
Upon making contact with Meyers, she provided officers with a name, date of birth and Social Security number for a female 15 years younger than her several times.
Officers quickly picked up on Meyers supplying false information.
A passenger in the vehicle eventually identified Meyers. Officers learned Meyers had a warrant out of Champaign County and to have a suspended driver’s license due to being a habitual alcoholic.
Meyers was placed under arrest and transported to the jail. She also was cited for driving under suspension.
The Russells Point Police Department assisted at the scene.
