Carrie A. Zweifel, 53, of 226 E. Newell St., Apt. 3, was arrested on felony drug charges after a 7:20 p.m. traffic stop Tuesday.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed the registration on Zweifel’s car had expired and conducted a stop at Speedway, 329 S. Main St.
She appeared nervous while interacting with the officer and exhibited indicators of illegal drug use. When asked about possessing drugs, she admitted to having pills and a pipe for crack cocaine abuse.
Three types of prescription pills were found inside the car, including 19 oxycodone and four morphine pills. The pipe and crack cocaine also were found during the search.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail on three felony counts of possession of drugs and a felony count of possession of crack cocaine.
Suspect admits hitting neighbor
Joel T. Alexander, 19, of 225 N. Detroit St., was charged Thursday with assault after he allegedly hit Robert W. Baum III, 220 W. Brown Ave., in the face.
Baum was reportedly riding an electric bicycle while Alexander was operating a remote control car. Baum collided with the car and crashed around 8:55 p.m. He confronted Alexander who allegedly punched Baum in the face.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department spoke with the suspect and he admitted to hitting Baum. Alexander was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Kristy R. Riley, 30, of 450 Kristina Drive, Apt. 16E, was served a warrant Friday for passing bad checks. An officer on patrol spotted her car in the 1600 block of south Main Street at 1 a.m. A computer check of the vehicle registration indicated she was wanted and the officer initiated a traffic stop.
• Roger L. Allen, 36, of 850 Bonnie Lane, Apt. 200, was taken into custody Thursday on warrants for domestic violence.
