Warren E. “Jack” Ricketts passed away March 12, 2022.
He was born May 20, 1930, to Milo and Mary (Cine) Ricketts in Zanesfield, Ohio. Jack graduated from Belle Center High School in 1948 and attended Giffin College in Van Wert, Ohio.
Jack was a Sergeant in the First Armored Division U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and returned home to Belle Center in 1953. That year, he married Patricia ‘Pat” Ammons and moved to Circleville, Ohio. The following year they moved to the Columbus area.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by son, Michael Ricketts. Jack was one of nine children, of whom two brothers survive, Glen (Joan) Ricketts and William (Melva) Ricketts. He is also survived by in-laws, Steven Ammons and Glen (Annette) Ammons, Marcile Ricketts and Brenda Ricketts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter Pamela Ricketts in 1979; siblings Milo Jr. (Pat) Ricketts, Betty (William) Kreinbihl, Ruth (Sidney) Kerns, Ralph Ricketts, James (Judy) Ricketts and Richard Ricketts; nephews William Kreinbihl Jr. and Ted Ricketts; father and mother-in-law Floyd and Loretta (Krock) Ammons.
Warren was a Life Member of the Operating Engineers working on job sites throughout Ohio for over fifty years. Upon retirement he, and Pat spent 20 happy winters at Holiday Mobile Park in Tavares, Florida where they learned to oil paint and enjoyed playing cards, boating and fishing on the Chain of Lakes. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member of York Lodge F&AM, Scottish Rite, and Eastern Star. A devoted family man, he enjoyed working in the garden and camping with family and friends. A former member of New Albany Methodist Church for many years, he attended Mid Lakes Christian Church while in Florida, and since moving to Gahanna, regularly attended Stonybrook Methodist Church and Bible Studies. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. Jack’s funeral service will begin following the visitation at noon, with interment at Maplewood Cemetery to conclude services.
