Daniel Lee Dooley, 69 of Bellefontaine passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Dan was born January 28, 1953 in Lafayette, IN to the late James F. and Ella C. (Akridge) Dooley. On March 20, 1981 in Bellefontaine he married Bonnie P. (Carroll) Harnish, who survives. Along with three step children, Michael Wisecup, Douglas (Debra) Harnish and Lisa Manns; grandchildren, Ashley (Brook Hyder) Elleman, D. J. Elleman, Ambria (Devin Jones) Patterson, Douglas Harnish III, Dustin Harnish, Seth Wisecup, Marena Sandoval and Paul Wisecup; great grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsea, Kaden, Jimmy, Elizabeth, Jalee, Lula, Roberto, Dylan and Abigail; brother, Rev. James F. (Susie) Dooley; niece Jessica (Charlie) Mayfield; nephews, Justin Dooley and Jeffery (Michael Evans) Dooley; great niece, Ashley and a great nephews, Xander.
Dan graduated from South West High School in Lafayette, IN. He honorably served his country as a corpsman in the United States Navy. After his time in the service he became a master optician, owning and operating Frames Unlimited in Bellefontaine. Dan was employed at The Ohio Reformatory for women in Marysville for several years training inmates in optical skills. Until retirement Dan was employed by Mobile Instrument in Bellefontaine. Dan had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid NASCAR fan, built and raced remote control cars, liked high school wrestling, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals football teams. Dan enjoyed rock-n-roll music, reading and was very opinionated at times. He was most proud of his family and would do anything for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Keith Wisecup and Payton Elleman.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
