Uncle Beth’s BBQ owners Beth White, far right, and Matthew Michalkiewicz, along with their seven employees, recently presented a check for $4,731.30 from Uncle Beth’s BBQ to Scott Stewart of the Logan County Vets to DC organization. Vietnam veterans Glen Gault and Larry Nance also were present. Uncle Beth’s BBQ, located west of North Lewisburg, hosted a Veterans Day Fundraiser Nov. 11 and served a total of 417 meals carryout style. A basket raffle also was conducted, and cash donations were accepted for the cause. Easton Water Solutions of Bellefontaine donated bottled water for each of the meals. Tickets and flyers were donated by Indian Lake Printing in Lakeview. Logan County Vets to DC is a non-profit organization with the mission of offering World War II, Korean and Vietnam era veterans the chance to see their war memorials in Washington, D.C. While the 2020 trip was canceled because of the pandemic and a local recognition event was hosted instead, the organization is making plans for the September 2021 trip. “Vets to DC graciously thanks Uncle Beth and her fabulous staff for their most generous donation. We also thank the wonderful patrons of Uncle Beth’s for supporting this great fundraiser,” Stewart said. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
