The Logan County Veteran’s Service Office representatives announced Wednesday that the office has implemented temporary precautionary changes and travel procedures as a result of recent information regarding COVID-19.
The office at 121 S. Opera St., Bellefontaine, is now closed to walk-in traffic and representatives will not be conducting any face-to-face interviews until further notice.
Representatives will be conducting phone interviews for claims by appointment and the necessary paperwork will be mailed or e-mailed. Financial assistance will be handled in the same manner.
As of close of business Friday, March 20, all transportation to and from the Columbus and Dayton VA Medical Centers will cease until further notice.
“Rest assured, this is temporary and it will pass,” Veteran’s Services Director Shelley Kneece said.
The office will still be manned during normal business hours — 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a lunch closure from 11 a.m. to noon. Representatives can be reached at (937) 599-4221.
