Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report a 79-year-old Zanesfield man who was previously reported missing early Friday morning has been located unharmed in the area of U.S. Route 33 and State Route 347.
Richard Zwayer Sr. is now back at his residence and is doing well, Chief Deputy Chris Prickett said.
A tracking device had previously been placed on his vehicle by his family, and the device showed that Zwayer had driven to Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus, deputies said.
The device showed that he was en route back to the area on U.S. 33, and he was located in his vehicle by a trooper of the Ohio State Highway Patrol about 10:55 a.m.

Deputies received a report early this morning regarding a 79- year-old Zanesfield area man who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, dementia and diabetes was missing from his residence.
Family members said Richard Zwayer Sr. of 7431 County Road 2, Zanesfield, reported him missing about 1 a.m. today. They said Zwayer placed a phone call to his son from his neighbor’s residence Thursday evening, stating that his cell phone was not working.
Deputies also spoke with Zwayer’s neighbor, who said she had last seen him about 6 p.m. Thursday. His neighbor reported that she provided Zwayer with directions to the Bellefontaine Verizon Wireless store so that he could get his cellular phone repaired.
Verizon Wireless also was contacted in attempt to ping Zwayer’s cell phone, but they stated the phone had not been active since Wednesday.
Zwayer was last seen driving a silver 2016 Toyota Camry with license plate GTN3249. He is described as 6 feet tall and approximately 190 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.
