UNION COUNTY — Road closures, traffic crashes and direct alerts to ongoing activity within the Union County Sheriff’s Office are now available with the release of a free mobile application for iPhone and Android devices.
The app was released publicly Jan. 7, and Union County is the first sheriff’s office in Ohio to offer the mobile app, according to a press release.
Components of the app include a list of most wanted offenders, along with names, photos and charges. Access to Union County inmates lodged in Tri-County Jail, along with a county-wide sex offender registry are also available.
Users of the application may also send anonymous tips to the sheriff’s office. Any submitted information may be kept confidential, deputies report.
A “Where am I?” feature allows users to share their location with other users if they are lost.
