A Logan County jury Tuesday acquitted a Marysville man, who also is a Tier III sex offender currently serving a prison term, on three Logan County sex offense charges.
Wyatt M. Fraker, 26, is currently incarcerated at the Noble Correctional Institute on the unrelated Union County charges. He was acquitted of the following Logan County charges: gross sexual imposition, a felony of the fourth degree; unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felon of the fourth degree; and rape, a felony of the first degree.
Logan County Common Pleas Court officials said the jury deliberated for approximately one hour before reaching its verdict.
Fraker was defended by counsel Eric Allen of New Albany. The State of Ohio was represented by Logan County Assistant Prosecutor Alice Robinson-Bond.
His Logan County charges were handed up by a grand jury in July of 2019, involving a teenage victim in Logan County. The Union County case involved a different teenage victim, according to previous reports.
During December 2019 in Union County, Fraker was sentenced to an agreed 12-year prison term after pleading guilty to sexual battery and pandering obscenity involving a minor, officials from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office report.
Among his other Union County charges include 57 counts of use of a minor in nudity material.
He was indicted there after allegedly plying a 16-year old female with alcohol and a “buzz ball” and engaging in sex with her after she became intoxicated, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office reports.
The teen had limited recollection of the events after consuming the alcohol provided by Fraker. The defendant also reportedly took photographs of the teen in a state of nudity using his cell phone. Detectives were unable to forensically recover the photographs of the teen but did locate other questionable photographs.
DNA profiling of evidence obtained from clothing seized by police also corroborated the sexual activity.
After serving his prison sentence, Fraker must register as a Tier III sex offender every 90 days for the rest of his life.
The Union County case was investigated by the Marysville Division of Police.
