MARYSVILLE — Union County officials continue to develop an application for $60 million to develop a fiber optic network along the U.S. Route 33 corridor.
Economic Development Director Eric Phillips recently updated the Marysville City Council on the project which would extend underground fiber optic cables from the Union/Franklin County line to Honda’s operations.
The project would benefit business, industry and residents.
Applications for federal assistance are due June 24.
The U.S. Department of Transportation Congestion and Management Technology Deployment grant could provide up to $12 million a year for five years.
