The marker has been installed near the former Pickrell home site on County Road 28 about 0.3 miles north of Pickrelltown.
The ceremony Saturday ceremony honored Curtis’ efforts and the role of local groups to fund the initiative.
“We are commemorating the significance of the Underground Railroad in the history of Logan County and Logan County’s importance in the history of the Underground Railroad in the country,” the director said. “This marker will ensure that future generations will never forget this aspect of our county’s legacy.”
