Tyler W. Heintz was born May 22, 1998, in Lima, the son of Christopher L. and Michelle R. Winkler Heintz.
On the morning of Tuesday, June 13, 2017, he lifted his last weight, ran his last sprint and wiped away his last drop of sweat as he was living out a lifelong dream of his, training as a college football player at Kent State University. Peacefully, the winds of heaven swept in and carried his soul into eternity at the University Hospitals, Portage Medical Center in Ravenna.
Tyler leaves behind several loving family members, including his parents, Chris and Shelly of Lakeview; siblings, Danielle, Elizabeth and Zachary; paternal grandparents, William and Lois Heintz of Belle Center; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Marilyn Winkler of Jackson Center; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Lisa Heintz; and great-grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Grace Knoop, Luther and Iva Heintz, Lawrence and Virginia Winkler and Marion and Isadore Ricker.
He was a graduate of the Kenton High School Class of 2017 and a student athlete at Kent State University where he planned to study marketing and entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration. Tyler was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Russells Point.
Tyler had a heart for making his family proud of everything that he did. He had a love for football and a passion for working on his family’s grain farm. Everywhere he went Tyler had a big smile on his face and was able to make anyone laugh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will bgin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with the Rev. Shawn Landenwitch officiating. Tyler’s body will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery following the service. His family will receive friends from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home, 200 E. Columbus St., Kenton.
The family requests that donations in memory of Tyler go to the Kenton High School football program to be used for improvements and renovations to the existing athletic building. Those donations should be made to the Tyler Heintz Memorial Fund and can be left at the funeral home, Quest Federal Credit Union’s Kenton location, 101 Jacob Parrot Blvd., Kenton OH 43326; or mailed to the Kenton High School, 200 Harding Ave., Kenton OH 43326.
