JOHNSON |
DUNCAN |
Tony L. Johnson, 31, of 624 N. Detroit St., was charged Friday with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia while Kevin L. Duncan, 34, of Springfield, was charged with possession of drugs and illegal conveyance of weapons into a jail and served a warrant for a parole violation for armed robbery.
Acting on tips and investigative leads, an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a car around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Detroit Street and Chillicothe Avenue.
Johnson had committed several driving errors leading up to the stop. When a warrants check revealed Duncan was wanted, the officer called for back up before removing the men from the car. Both were asked about illegal drugs in the car and both denied any.
The men had wads of cash totaling $608 and $643.
A small bag with cocaine, a pipe for smoking crack cocaine and a grinder for marijuana were found in the car.
Both were taken to the Logan County Jail. Staff there found three suboxone film strips in the pocket of Duncan’s gym shorts.
