Justin L. Goodman, 29, of 450 Kristina Drive, Apt. 16F, was charged Tuesday with domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at the residence around 2 a.m. after he allegedly threatened to harm Emily Green, of the address, and their infant daughter. She took her daughter and left the residence before calling police.
Goodman was found visibly intoxicated at the residence and denied threatening Green or their daughter.
He was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Kaitlyn B. Erwin, 24, of 541 Cooper Ave., was charged July 1 with domestic violence. She admitted to striking Jake Harmon, of the same address, during a morning argument.
He had scratches on his upper left arm and left side of his chest. He soon left for work and Erwin was issued a summons as she would remain with their young children.
Man charged with damaging SUV
Nathaniel G. Jones, 20, of 227 N. Detroit St., was charged Monday with two counts of criminal damaging.
Witnesses told officers Jones repeatedly kicked the side driver’s side of a parked sport utility vehicle on Sunday outside 226 Oakland Square and then came back Monday to strike the front end repeatedly with a metal pipe.
He was chased off by a neighbor.
Officers report the SUV sustained damage to the front and driver’s side and scratches on the passenger side.
Chandal R. and Domonic A. Orozco, the owners of the SUV, provided officers with a video recording of the Monday incident which included Jones walking onto their porch with a knife and threatening to harm them. He also carved “NAT” into the front door of the residence.
Jones was located at his residence, taken into custody and lodged in jail.
Failure to scan leads to theft charge
Casey M. Reinhart, 30, of 1000 Garfield Ave., Lot 80, was charged July 1 with theft.
Walmart security staff reported she attempted to leave the 2281 S. Main St. store with $146 in goods that she failed to self-scan.
Reihart claimed she was distracted by her 2-year-old daughter while at the store.
Motorists charged with OVI
Gianna M. Hagedorn, 21, of 8373 Blue Heron Cove, Huntsville, was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a 2:25 a.m. traffic stop.
An officer on patrol observed her turn a westbound car on Columbus Avenue north onto Detroit Street which is one-way southbound. She also drove the car across painted parking spots along Detroit.
She was pulled over in a parking lot. Upon contact, the officer noted her eyes were bloodshot and glossy and there was an odor of alcohol coming from Hagedorn as she spoke.
Field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired by alcohol. She declined to provide a breathalyzer sample.
She was issued an OVI summons plus traffic citations for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and a marked lanes violation. She was released to her mother.
• Samuel A. Schafer, 22, of Springfield, was charged with OVI and cited for driving with one operational headlight after a 12:20 a.m. traffic stop Sunday.
An officer on patrol on Main Street observed the violation near Water Avenue and turned to catch up with Schafer’s car. A traffic stop occurred in the 1100 block of south Main.
The officer noted Schafer’s bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech upon contact with the driver. Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired by alcohol.
His breathalyzer sample was recorded at 0.19.
He was released to a sober driver.
Delivery driver cited in hit-skip
Mason R. Litteral, 26, of Springfield, was issued traffic citations for leaving the scene of crash and failure to control after the beer delivery truck he was operating sideswiped a parked car around 11:20 a.m. Friday.
He was eastbound on east Chillicothe Avenue and his vehicle hit a car registered to Alice A. Godwin of DeGraff as he was turning south onto Opera Street. He stopped for a delivery at Brewfontaine, 211 S. Main St., and then continued to the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, 912 S. Detroit St., where he waited for officers.
He told officers he didn’t think he hit anything.
Damaged to the car was heavy while the trailer of delivery truck has fresh scrapes from the crash.
