John Sheeley, 46, of 114 Pepperbush Drive, was charged Saturday with domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he headbutted his wife, Heather, around 3:30 a.m. They met with her after she was treated at the Family Urgent Care, 1860 S. Main St., around noon.
Officers report the facial area around her left eye was swollen and bruised. When she awoke the next morning, she sent a photograph of her injuries to her husband while he worked. He reportedly became ill upon seeing first hand what he had done and volunteered to turn himself in.
He was home when officers arrived and admitted his part. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

• Scott A. Fulmer, 21, of 904 Ohio St., was arrested Thursday for domestic violence.
He was located on foot nearby around 10 p.m.
He reportedly hit Heather Puff in the head with a rock after drinking liquor and taking pills.
Puff was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital and treated for injuries.
The defendant was checked at MRH, cleared and then lodged in jail.
Two face OVI charges
Xavier C. Stepp, 24, of 450 Kristina Drive, Apt. 2E, was charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
He was cited for driving under suspension and driving without headlights.
Around 12:10 a.m., he was observed driving from his apartment complex to the Kroger gas station at 2129 S. Main St.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol talkin with him and initiated sobriety field tests which indicated he was intoxicated. A breathalyzer sample was taken and it was 0.123.
He was released to a sober friend.
• Joshua M. Butler, 23, of 501 Gunntown Road, Lot 101, was charged Saturday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Around 5 a.m., he was found passed out behind the wheel of pickup truck in the drive-up lane of a restaurant at 1130 N. Main St.
Officers noted a strong odor of alcohol while talking to him and initiated sobriety field tests which indicated he was intoxicated. A breathalyzer sample was taken and it was 0.228.

Stacy R. Shirk, 61, of 504 Heritage Drive, was taken into custody ariound 3:30 p.m. Sunday on a probation violation after he consumed alcohol and began to threaten his wife, Arlene. He was lodged in jail.
House hit with paintballs
Lori Bechtel, 840 Township Road 179, reported Saturday morning her residence was hit with paintballs overnight.
Drunken behavior ends with arrest
Wesley K. Anderson, 32, at large, was charged Saturday with criminal mischief and littering.
Officers were called the residence to his mother’s residence at 420 1/2 N. Detroit St. where he had caused disturbance before leaving.
He was located around 1:30 a.m. as he walked onto a porch of residence in the 500 block. He was intoxicated and had white paint covering his pants and boots. There was paint on the street out front along with strewn trash. He denied any involvement.
Witnesses report he threw a five gallon can of paint and knocked over a trash can.
He was arrested and lodged in jail.
The Bellefontaine Fire and EMS Department were called to the scene to clean up the paint.
