Timothy L. Cozad, 31, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Bokescreek EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a single-vehicle truck crash Tuesday on State Route 292.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a southbound Heritage Cooperative single-unit truck near County Road 119 about 10:40 a.m. during rainy conditions when the vehicle dropped off the right edge of the roadway and then lost control. The truck flipped onto its driver’s side and slid off the right side of the road into the ditch.
Damage was heavy to the truck, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt and no citations were listed with the crash report.
• Desiree S. Spitler, 17, of DeGraff, did not report any injuries following a Tuesday afternoon crash on County Road 18.
Deputies report she was operating a westbound pickup at Township Road 198 about 3:45 p.m. when she drove off the right side of the road, striking a fence and trees before coming to a rest along the road.
Damage was heavy to the pickup. The driver was wearing her seat belt, and no citations were listed with the crash report.
Man charged with domestic violence
David L. Werling, 42, of 10000 Eagle Drive, Huntsville, was charged with domestic violence as a result of an incident Tuesday evening.
Deputies responded to his residence about 10:20 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute between Werling and his wife. At the residence, the couple’s child answered the door, stating his parents had been in a fight, but said they had both left the residence.
Deputies located Werling’s wife driving a vehicle in that area of the Dream Bridge and initiated a traffic stop. She told deputies that during an argument, her husband had pushed her in the chest several times and then pushed over the back of the couch. She said she then got back up and tried to defend herself.
The defendant’s vehicle was located in the area of the Moundwood boat dock. Deputies and Ohio Department of Natural Resources officers located Werling sleeping underneath the bridge along State Route 368. After he was awakened, deputies said he had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet.
He was placed under arrest and was lodged in the jail.
Suspect lodged for breaking and entering, theft
Joshua L. Gilbert, 36, address unavailable, was charged with a felony count of breaking and entering, along with a misdemeanor count of theft and a probation violation, as a result of an incident Tuesday evening at the Oasis Drive Thru, 136 S. Main St., Lakeview.
Deputies were dispatched to the business about 6:45 p.m. on a report of a man who had entered the business and stolen two bottles of liquor from the store. The employee provided deputies with the suspect’s vehicle description.
After follow-up investigation, deputies located the vehicle parked at 8890 T.R. 239, lot 27. While the suspect was not located immediately at that time, deputies were called back to the area on a fight and located Gilbert at lot 41 at that time. He also had in his possession one of the stolen bottles of liquor.
The defendant was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
