MARYSVILLE — One of a trio of injury crashes Thursday in Union County caused major traffic backup on U.S. Route 33.
The Marysville Division of Police responded to a crash at 3:12 p.m. on westbound U.S. 33, where a car traveled off the roadway, through the median and into the path of another auto heading east. Both drivers and two passengers were transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment, with one being transferred to a second facility.
The highway was closed for about an hour during the investigation and clean up.
Troopers from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated an injury crash at 5:07 a.m. on Kinney Pike south of Graham Jones Road, where a car drove off the road, struck a ditch and came to rest on its top, sending two juveniles and one adult to local hospitals for treatment.
Troopers also responded to an injury crash at 4:53 p.m. on State Route 31 where a semi tractor-trailer collided with a sport utility vehicle. Both vehicles traveled off the roadway and struck utility poles and a ditch before coming to rest on their sides. One person was ejected and transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital.
