Triad’s football team ended a four-game losing skid Friday with a 56-19 win over visiting Northeastern in Ohio Heritage Conference North Division action.
The Cardinals finish their fall campaign at 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the league, while the Jets finish 2-8, 0-5.
Northeastern led 7-6 after the opening quarter, but Triad rallied in the second quarter. The Cardinals outscored the Jets 21-6 to carry a 27-13 lead into halftime.
Triad blanked Northeastern 13-0 in the third quarter to build a 40-13 advantage. The Cardinals continued to add to their lead in the final quarter.
Offensively, Triad piled up 464 yards of total offense. Coleman Hauck led the way with 67 rushing yards and a score and 101 receiving yards.
Also for the Cardinals, J.C. Alexander had 75 rushing yards and three touchdowns, Jacob Jenkins tallied 62 receiving yards and a touchdown, Logan McCoy had 80 receiving yards and Jordan Simonelli completed 12-of-14 passes for 179 yards and a score, while scoring two rushing touchdowns.
Hayden Simpson added an 86-yard kick return for a touchdown.
