Triad’s boys basketball team pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback to bounce visiting Graham 49-44 on Tuesday in a non-league Champaign County battle.
Trailing 38-34 entering the final quarter, the Cardinals put together a 15-6 run in the fourth period to escape with the win and bring their record to 2-1. The Falcons start the season 0-1.
Graham held an 8-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but pulled away with a 20-11 scoring burst in the second quarter. That vaulted the Falcons to a 28-18 halftime lead.
Triad began to battle its way back with a 16-10 effort in the third quarter. That left the Cardinals trailing 38-34 with one quarter left to play.
