Triad’s boys basketball team held strong and pulled out a 57-54 win over Riverside Saturday in the consolation game of the Benjamin Logan Tip-Off Classic.
The Cardinals are now 1-1 on the season as the Pirates finish 0-2 on opening weekend.
“I was happy with the way our guys responded from the loss on Friday,” said Triad head coach Jason Malone. “They played with a lot more confidence on Saturday against a good Riverside team. Being 1-1 feels a lot better than 0-2.”
“This is the second night in a row where I thought we came out ready to play and got off to a good start,” said RHS head coach Seth Bodenmiller. “Then in the second quarter, we lost our focus and started making careless mistakes and Triad took advantage of them.”
