Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague visited Logan County Monday to tour the operations of the Miller Family Farm near Zanesfield and discuss recent efforts to modernize the Treasurer’s office’s Ag-LINK program.
The Miller Family Farm is operated by Tim and Lynn Miller. They currently farm more than 2,400 acres of no-till corn and soybeans, are actively involved in the local agriculture community, and are members of the Logan County Farm Bureau.
In addition to touring the farming operation, Treasurer Sprague and the Millers discussed how economic issues like inflation and supply chain turmoil are impacting the agriculture community, and how Ag-LINK can help farmers save money through interest rate reductions on operating loans.
Earlier this year, the Treasurer’s office made a number of improvements to the long-standing program, including transitioning to a year-long application period.
Additionally, the recently enacted Ohio Gains legislation added agricultural cooperatives as eligible Ag-LINK borrowers and removed outdated caps on loan size.
Those interested in Ag-LINK should contact their financial institution to begin the online loan application process. More information on the Ag-LINK program can be found at https://tos.ohio.gov/ag-link/.
