5-year forecast shows improvement with levy funds
Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education members accepted the retirement resignation of longtime treasurer Keith Krieger at their Monday evening board of education meeting.
At the effective date of his retirement Dec. 31, he will have dedicated more than 40 years of service to the school district after his hire date of July 16, 1979, Board President Joan Haushalter said.
“Since that day, BCS and the Bellefontaine community have been the very fortunate recipients of Keith’s integrity, hard work, fiscal responsibility and leadership.
“As our school treasurer, Keith is charged with protecting the fiscal health of our district. For 40 years, he has executed his duties with the utmost conscientiousness and the highest ethical standards. Keith exhibits effective leadership through fiscal conservancy and collaboration.
“He has earned the respect and trust of the board and the community based on his competence, integrity, ethics and fiscally responsible results.”
During the last four decades, Haushalter also noted that the treasurer has consistently achieved excellent state audit results.
Throughout his tenure, he served alongside six superintendents, overseen the financial side of three building projects and he helped to save the taxpayers hundred of thousands of dollars through recommending the refunding of bonds when the market conditions were favorable.
“We gratefully thank him for his hard work and dedication,” the board president said.
