The top four placers in each event earned spots in the regional meet Wednesday and Friday at Troy Stadium.
Adams had a big day in the distance events. He won a district title in the 1,600 with a time of 4:32.4 and also took second in the 3,200 with a time of 10:07.6.
“Joey ran two smart and very competitive races,” said WL-Salem boys head coach Joe Taylor. “He and McBride (from Newton) have a nice battle going on right now between cross country and track. It will be fun to watch them compete again at the regional meet.
“Joey works very hard on and off the track and he deserves everything he is earning right now. We are all excited to get back to work to prepare for another couple races.”
Riverside’s Caleb Stevens captured two district titles after winning the 100 (11.11) and the 200 (22.66). The Pirates’ Ollie Jacobs also qualified to the regional by placing fourth in the 400 (53.8).
