Tyler A. Capuano, 19, of 1012 Heritage Court, was arrested Wednesday for cruelty to animals.
Two maintenance workers told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department they observed the suspect throw a cat from a porch and then kick it.
A security video confirmed their account.
Officers confronted the suspect and he denied it. He continued his denial even as officers told him they had viewed the video.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Passengers arrested for heroin, parole violation

Katrina R. Robinson, 26, of 205 Grand Ave., Apt. 116, Russells Point, was arrested Wednesday for illegal possession of prescription drugs, possession of heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments while Kaitlyn S. Klaas, 24, at large, was lodged on a parole violation.
They were passengers in a pickup truck driven by Lance A. Wilson, 45, of 10984 Ash St., Lakeview, who was pulled over on west Brown Avenue for driving under suspension.
Officers recovered two hypodermic needles loaded with heroin from Ms. Robinson. She had concealed the syringes in a sock and then put it in her bra. Nine prescription pills were found in a bottle in her purse.
Both women were lodged in jail.
