A 15-year-old Bellefontaine virtual learning academy student was taken into custody Tuesday evening after he threatened to shoot up the Bellefontaine Intermediate School.
Nathaniel Jones, 121 W. Brown Ave., was lodged in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of delinquency inducing panic.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the teen was cooperative and he admitted it was stupid to make the threat. He told them he had no intention to follow through, but anxiety and anger issues led to him acting out.
A monitor of the academy learned of the threat and that the boy had been researching guns through the academy’s computer network.
There was no indication the teen had access to any guns, police report.
Officers forwarded their investigation findings to the Logan County Family Courts for review.
