Joshua L. Martin, 17, of 223 N. Koke St., DeGraff, was charged with aggravated menacing after he reportedly made a verbal threat to shoot another student Tuesday morning inside a Riverside Local Schools classroom.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 9:55 a.m. to the school, 2096 S. County Road 14, DeGraff, where they spoke with school administrators.
School administrators had been contacted by a classroom teacher after Joshua was involved in a verbal dispute in the classroom. He reportedly became upset and allegedly threatened to take a gun to school to shoot another student.
After making the threat, Joshua was taken to the administrative office, where deputies spoke with him. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Deputies said no firearms were recovered at the school.
Driver charged with OVI
Barbara A. Culp, 66, of 4584 County Road 11, Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for driving left of center following a traffic stop in the Chippewa area Tuesday evening.
Deputies on patrol in the area initiated the traffic stop about 11 p.m. on State Route 235 near Newland Drive after observing a left of center violation.
The driver reportedly failed field sobriety tests, and she was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she tested a 0.206 blood alcohol content level. She was released to a family member.
