Tamara K. Tillman Carey McGrew, 76, of Bellefontaine, went home to be with the Lord at 10:13 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.
She was born in Bellefontaine on May 15, 1940, to the late David Caldwell and Dorothy Hickman Tillman.
She married William McGrew and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn (John) Martin of Lakeview and April (John) Carey-Sooklaris of Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren, Breanne Roberts, Gail (Alan) Mostov, Megan (Beau) Jacobs, Meredith (Nick) Christman, Molly (Ty) Klofta, William Miller III and Linsey Sargent; and nine great grandchildren.
In prior years, she had worked as an apartment manager in Columbus. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delaware and most recently attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. Tamara especially enjoyed singing in the church choir, swimming, and gardening.
Pastor Daniel McCarty officiates a memorial service at 5 p.m. Monday, June 6, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine, where visitation is one hour prior to the service.
