Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Bellefontaine EMS responded about 7:05 a.m. Friday to 3229 E. State Route 47, Bellefontaine, on a report of an unresponsive man.
Lewis Dale Boggs, 38, of that address, was pronounced dead, officials said of a suspected drug overdose. He was found in a bedroom in the home, and the Logan County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene.
Deputies said numerous syringes and other drug paraphernalia, three units of suspected heroin and also evidence of black tar heroin were found at the scene.
Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds said this was the fifth overdose incident in the past two weeks and the second overdose death during that time period.
“That’s an alarming figure to us,” he said. “This is very much a concern.”
