Dante S. Giammarco, 23, of Tampa, Fla., was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Saturday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 9:30 p.m. to the area of U.S. Route 68 near Township Road 219 in reference to a domestic dispute in a motor vehicle.
Deputies located the female victim standing outside along U.S. 68, waving her arms to get their attention. She stated she and her boyfriend, Giammarco, started arguing on the way home from a birthday party that day.
The girlfriend said while she was driving, Giammarco pulled at her shirt and tried to pull her toward the passenger seat. When she tried to stop at a gas station in Bellefontaine to have him get out of the vehicle, she said he grabbed the wheel to continue going straight and also took her cell phone.
She was able to stop the vehicle at Cherokee Run Landfill, 2946 U.S. 68, Bellefontaine. The defendant reportedly started grabbing her by the hair and tried to pull her toward him. She said she started to slap him and push him away, but he initially would not let her exit the vehicle.
While deputies were speaking with her, they observed red marks on the back of her neck.
Giammarco also was located along the roadway. He denied striking his girlfriend and said he was slapped several times in the face. Deputies also observed red marks on his face. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• David A. Dickinson, 36, of 105 E. Buckeye St., Belle Center, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Saturday evening in Belle Center.
His girlfriend, Danielle A. Thornton, 30, of the same address, also was issued a summons for domestic violence.
Deputies responded about 11:20 p.m. to a Charles Street address in Belle Center, in reference to a domestic dispute.
Dickinson said he and Thornton walked home from a party together and she became physically aggressive. He said when they arrived at home, she became pulling him by his hair.
Thornton told deputies that both she and her boyfriend had been intoxicated at the party and they got into a verbal argument on the way home. She said he locked her out of the house and she entered the home through a bathroom window.
Thornton told deputies that Dickinson began grabbing her around her neck and she grabbed him in self-defense. She stated she then went back to her friend’s house on Charles Street.
Dickinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
Motorcyclist strikes deer
Evan M. Regan, 27, of Troy, reported minor injuries, but was not transported from the scene of a motorcycle crash Sunday evening.
He reportedly was operating a northbound motorcycle in the 8900 block of north U.S. Route 68 about 8:50 p.m. when the motorcycle struck a deer. Damage was light to the motorcycle.
Regan was not wearing a helmet, according to the crash report.
