Golf cart driver lodged after leaving scene of crash
Kevin B. Henry, 30, of London, Ohio, was charged with obstructing official business, and was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to control related to a golf cart crash Saturday.
Deputies report he was operating a golf cart about 7:30 p.m. on Seminole Path in Chippewa when he attempted to make a left turn onto Thomas Drive. The golf cart reportedly overturned, and two passengers, James LeMaster, and Jill LeMaster, both 31 and of Columbus, were ejected from the vehicle.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they observed the two passengers being treated by Indian Lake EMS paramedics, but the driver, Mr. Henry, and the golf cart were no longer at the scene.
Deputies spoke with the registered owner of the golf cart, Tammy Clawson, 11420 Big Bear Path, Chippewa, Lakeview, who said she had given Henry permission to operate the golf cart. The golf cart reportedly had been returned to her residence, but she said Henry had not informed her that it had been damaged in a crash.
Deputies were able to speak with Henry over the phone, and he claimed he had already left the area. He was uncooperative with deputies at the time.
Sunday afternoon, Henry spoke with deputies at the sheriff’s office, and was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
