13 BPA students advance to national competition
Riverside Board of Education members extended a five-year contract to Superintendent Scott Mann at their Tuesday evening meeting, during which they also approved a student trip for pupils to attend the Business Professionals of America Contest National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.
Board members approved the superintendent’s contract, effective Aug. 1, with a 4-1 vote. President Dr. Bradley Adams cast the dissenting vote, noting that he had concerns with the length of the contract, but was pleased with Mr. Mann’s work as superintendent.
Other members noted that they wanted to offer the longer length of the contract as a return for the superintendent’s service. He has served in the role since 2012, and was a Riverside principal for three years prior to that.
“This is a big investment for our district, and I feel like Scott has been loyal to us and takes our requests seriously,” Vice President Robert Bender said.
