The Village of DeGraff is replacing its existing water treatment plant, and will save about 5 percent on the project because of a low-interest loan from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
A freshly dug well accompanies the new drinking water treatment plant, according to project plans.
The new water treatment plant replaces the outdated and aging existing facility. The new well will increase capacity, and improve the overall quality of drinking water for residents.
The total loan is for $95,353. The village will save about $4,757 because of a reduced interest rates from the Ohio EPA, according to information about the project.
Funds for this loan were obtained through the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account, which was created in 1998 to provide, “below-market interest rate loans for compliance-related improvements for community water systems and nonprofit, non-community public water systems,” according to the Ohio EPA.
