An Indian Lake High School student was arrested Tuesday after he posted a photograph of two students and labeled them “school shooters.”
Jordan Barhorst, who turned 18 in the past month, was charged with aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct, Washington Township Police Chief Rick Core reports.
“We just had an assembly with the kids last week explaining how this kind of behavior will not be tolerated,” Chief Core said. “It didn’t take long for one of them to test the zero tolerance policy.
“Students and parents have to realize this is going to be the narrative from here on out. We’re going to treat it this way every time.”
Chief Core said Barhorst allegedly took a cell phone photograph of two female students whom he did not know and used photographic software to draw a circle around them in red and altering their images before labeling them “school shooters.”
He then allegedly shared the photo via social media. Another student showed it to a teacher who took a photograph of the screen shot.
School was letting out as school officials contacted Core, who was nearby. He responded and took Barhorst into custody.
The photo has since been taken down from social media.
The district posted a notification of the event on its Webpage and an all-call was sent out.
