A motorist was arrested for drunk driving Wednesday after the pickup truck he was operating became stuck in a field along Township Road 123.
Deputies were dispatched about 11:35 p.m. to the area of 10335 T.R. 123, West Mansfield, on a report from a property owner that he could hear a pickup truck stuck in a field and spinning its tires attempting to get out.
Upon arrival, deputies met with Michael Grindell, 54, of West Mansfield, who reported that he was taking his new pickup truck for a test drive when he traveled off the side of the road and became stuck in the field.
Initially, deputies were told the driver was on his cell phone and not paying attention to the road, when he lost control and became stuck. Later, deputies were told Grindell was testing out the four-wheel drive capabilities of the pickup.
An odor of alcoholic beverage was observed, and field sobri- ety tests were conducted by deputies. Grindell was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
