CLARK COUNTY — Alcohol is a suspected contributing factor in a single-vehicle crash that occurred about 10 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 235 in Clark County.
Troopers from the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report Justin Apple, 28, of Fairborn, was northbound on S.R. 235 near U.S. Route 40 in Bethel Township when the vehicle he was driving failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the road, striking a concrete curb.
Impact of the crash sent the vehicle airborne in a nearby wooded area.
He was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with only minor injuries. A second vehicle was struck by debris from the crash, but that driver was not injured.
Troopers suspect excessive speed as well as alcohol contributed. Damage was heavy.
The crash remains under investigation.
