The Braves conducted a scrimmage against family, friends and staff from LCBDD and RTC staff Wednesday night at Southview Park to prepare for the weekend ahead.
“Our goal this weekend is to go have fun and enjoy ourselves,” said Braves head coach Ashley Logan. “These guys and girls didn’t have much of a chance growing up to play sports and I just want them to relish the spotlight.”
This is the Braves’ second appearance in the state tournament and things are a little different this time around.
“We tended to focus on the star players more often last year,” continued Logan. “This year we really tried hard to get everyone involved and teach the fundamentals to every player.”
Another difference is that the Braves will be participating in the Division IV level.
“I haven’t heard a lot about the competition, but if we place then that is great. If not, that is fine, too,” said Logan. “I just want our team to have fun.”
