The local rallying point for the Republican Party’s national campaign effort is now up and running.

Members of the Logan County Republican Party were joined by State Senate candidate Matt Huffman and Russ Burns, the Trump Victory Campaign field organizer for Logan, Champaign and Union counties, for the Thursday evening opening of the 105 W. Columbus Ave. storefront.
The location will be open roughly 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to noon each Saturday now through the Nov. 8 election, local party organizer Ranae Lentz said.
Trump campaign yard signs, bumper stickers and other promotional materials are expected to arrive in the near future, Mr. Burns told the party supporters.
Mr. Huffman, a former state representative from Lima who is seeking his first term in the Ohio Senate, urged the group to drum up Republican votes for the general election and reminded the listeners about the new voters Donald Trump has energized in his bid for president to date.
“In the 7th Senate District you would normally expect 40,000 to 45,000 people to turn out (to vote in the primary),” Mr. Huffman said. “This year there were 64,000. It is the most people to vote in decades, maybe the most since Ronald Reagan’s first term. It shows that people want a change.
