The Logan County Art League’s “Not so Bad Art by Good People” fundraiser features non-artist “celebrities” competing to create a work of art and campaigning for the public’s vote for their artwork.

Among the 15 new budding artists is Logan County Sheriff Andy Smith, who has completed an acrylic portrait of the family cat, Lehrte.
The first painting the sheriff attempted he considered several ideas, but decided to focus on the gray feline who was named after the home town in Germany of an exchange student who lived with Sheriff Smith and his wife, Rebecca.
He attended two open studios at the Gallery at the Holland and was helped by artist Nancy Bassett.
