The Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement officers will conduct sobriety checkpoints Friday at locations to be announced Friday morning.
“Statewide, troopers make on average 25,000 impaired diver arrests each year to help improve traffic safety for all Ohio citizens,” said Lt. Molly Harris, commander of the Marysville post. “OVI checkpoints are designed to deter impaired driving and remove those that don’t heed the warning.”
Those who plan to consume alcohol also should plan for a sober driver or make other appropriate travel arrangements before drinking.
Alcohol-related crashes continue to be a significant problem nationally and locally, troopers report.
